Jones says there are nine billion reasons why the union flag should fly over MLAs offices
Cllr. David Jones, UKIP Candidate for Upper Bann in the May Assembly elections has described comments that flags should not be allowed on MLA constituency offices but that they should be a ‘neutral’ space are totally unacceptable, given that the union flag is the flag of the country which pays to keep Northern Ireland functioning.
“Too many of these politically correct know-alls think that they can dictate where and when a flag can be flown. I am saying to them – there are 9 billion reasons every year why the flag should be flown – because that is the amount of the £9 billion subsidy the United Kingdom pays to keep Northern Ireland afloat, over and above the taxes raised here.”
