UKIP Mid Ulster Assembly candidate slams Sinn Fein MEP scaremongering on Brexit

UKIP Mid Ulster Assembly candidate, Alan Day has responded to comments by  Sinn Fein MEP Martina Anderson.

Mr. Day said:

“At the recent Brexit conference in the Balmoral Hotel organised by Sinn Fein MEP Martina Anderson, she said: ‘Only 27% of food and drink produced in the north is sold here. Around 21% of total external sales of food and drink from the north go to the south. A further 16% go to other EU member states. When all goods (not just food and drink) are considered, then 60% of exports originating from the north go to the EU.’

“I would take her to task on these figures and point out that Northern Ireland exports for 2014 totalled £14bn – of which £8bn went to the rest of the UK whilst a further went to the £3bn to EU (of which £2bn to the Republic of Ireland ) & £3bn to rest of the world.
