McNarry says Corbyn election has raised talks stakes with potential of a Corbyn Secretary of State in a direct rule situation
David McNarry MLA, UKIP Leader in Northern Ireland, has said :
“Only Jeremy Corbyn’s mates in Sinn Fein welcome his election as, no doubt do ISIS, while others across the UK will view it as both toxic and dangerous. His election has raised the local talks stakes higher than before, in terms of there being the potential of a return to direct rule.
Should the wreckers force the Executive to collapse, plunging us into a dark decade or more of direct rule, as looks likely, we must factor in a Jeremy Corbyn Secretary of State potentially governing us. Even a Corbyn shadow Secretary of State is a terrible prospect for Northern Ireland.”
