Bob Stoker, UKIP Westminster Candidate for South Belfast, has expressed extreme disappointment and grave concern that three local community organisations who provided excellent and very supportive training to young people and women have not been awarded any support from DEL through the ESF process.

Mr Stoker said:

“Belfast South Community resources, Greater Village regeneration Trust and Windsor Women’s Centre all provided much needed and valued training to a wide range of people with different abilities and needs.”

Bob Stoker stated his concern that the decision to exclude local delivery partners in this area “will lead to further isolation and detachment, especially among young people.”

He added:

“These existing groups had built up a trust and bond with young people and had managed to gain full time employment for a large number of them. This decision by DEL will put back the progress that was being made and will lead to even more people joining the ‘not in employment-education-training’ category (NEETs).”
