McNarry: Precious little ‘comfort’ to victims denied justice

McNarry says ‘letters of comfort’ precious little comfort to victims denied justice by these letters

Integrity of Criminal Justice seriously damaged and victims must be upset and offended about equality rules in NI

David McNarry MLA, UKIP leader in Northern Ireland, commenting on the On-the-Runs controversy has said :

“It is too late to be learning that a catastrophic error was made in the Downey Case. It is too late to be told that serious queries are now being raised about the legality in what was a deeply flawed system in issuing these ‘letters of comfort.’ They provided precious little comfort to the victims denied justice by these letters. I question if we have really arrived at a point of closure. The answer to that can only be given by the victims themselves.”
