UKIP Leader in Northern Ireland David McNarry MLA is today pleased to announce that Councillor Robert Hill has been selected as the UKIP Candidate for North Antrim in the upcoming Westminster elections.
Councillor Hill has been a Councillor in since 2005 helping people daily with a range of issues. Mr Hill also serves as the Chair of The County Antrim Combined Services Association which offers support and comradeship to its members and families.
Commenting on his selection, Robert said:
“I was a long time member of the DUP but I left that party after becoming fed up with the growing farce that this country has had to endure daily at Stormont. I was also increasingly disillusioned by the multiple failed promises to engage with ordinary people.
There is now a clear disconnect between those in Stormont and Westminster and the rest of us. It is about self-service, not helping the people they expect to vote them back in every four years.
I am standing for UKIP because it is a party that is sticking up for people, no matter what their background; helping to make changes for the betterment of the whole Community, not just a select few.
Cllr Hill added:
“An issue close to my heart is the Welfare and lack of proper care available today for our ex service personnel and those in society who suffer with mental health problems.
UKIP is helping on both of these fronts by pledging to honour the Military Covenant and pledging to put more resources into our Health Service.”
