Johns welcomes addiction awareness event in Lurgan

Commenting after attending a drugs and addiction awareness event in Mourneview Community Centre Lurgan, UKIP Representative in the area Jonathan Johns said:

“As a community psychiatric nurse, I would like to sincerely thank the organisers of last weeks drugs awareness meeting. In my day to day work for the trust in this community, drugs and alcohol abuse is clearly evident and destroys lives, families and neighbourhoods. The speakers on the night highlighted this devastation graphically and endeavoured to empower the audience to take ownership of this worrying epidemic sweeping throughout this borough.”

Commenting further, Mr Johns added:

“Churches, statutory and voluntary bodies including community groups and the PSNI all working in partnership is the only way forward to offer hope to our young people and those currently suffering with addiction. I would encourage you to please consider getting involved in helping to make our commumity healthier and safer for all. If you need help with addiction remember; help is only a phonecall away.”
